Priors Lodge was the home of my once boss Melville Watts who is up now with the big boss here is some information and photos on the house.

AYLBURTON LODGE LANE SO 50 SE (east side) 6/21 Prior's Lodge (formerly listed 7.8.54 as Bream Lodge) - II Large detached house. Early C18 extensively modified late C18. Rendered, but central section at back exposed rubble, wood modillion cornice, plain parapet, full width pediments left and right, low pitched hipped roof with concrete tiles, and stacks. A long wide block, built across the fall of the land, probably in more than one stage with three formal elevations and a tripartite back elevation. 3½ storeys, stepped levels within but continuous parapet; four lunette dormers over 1 replacement sash at highest level, left, over one 4-pane sash, a 3-light casement with transom under segmental head, three 12-pane original sashes, over a pair of C20 glazed doors, 2-light casement, 12-pane sash, pair of C20 glazed doors approached by stone staircase, small round-headed sash - the last two items in 3-bay wood porch with hipped slate roof, three deep 18 pane sashes; at right hand end, at lower ground level, three 12-pane sashes. Return, left, 3-windowed, three storeys, sashes at first and second floor over two 2-light casements with transom; return, right, 2-windowed three storeys all glazing bar sashes. Interior has early C17 open square well stair with plain string, twisted balusters and heavy handrail; many C18 and C19 panelled doors and shutters, and in dining room at west end a large stone-cheeked fireplace with very deep oak bressummer.

The asset was previously listed twice. It was also listed under List Entry 1299230. This entry was removed from the List on 07/10/2014.
